Makeup: Heating up
The warmer weather has hit us already this year – so it’s time to change up that beauty routine – but to what you ask?
Well… TWAIN speak with none other than make up extraordinaire and make up artist to Australian stars, Tobi Henney.
What is the best foundation to use in the warmer months?
I am currently loving Makeup Forever HD Ultra foundation. It stays for hours and has a beautiful finish.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturises are also perfect for Summer as they have SPF20 inbuilt to protect you from the sun, they also have the most radiant finish.
Is dewy make up a 'no go' zone in summer?
Dewy can always be achieved in Summer, however try and carry a compact powder for your T-Zone. I love MAC Mineralize skin finish powders, they are super light, have a hint of colour and they photograph beautifully.
Best make up setters you've come across?
Urban Decay do a great makeup setting spray.
How can we tackle 'the shine'?
I have just discovered Blotterazi by Beauty Blender, available at Sephora. It's a pink little sponge in compact with a mirror. It's easy to use - simply blot shiny areas and the oil and shine will disappear.
Make up secrets in summer?
Cleanse with Bioderma before starting makeup it will remove excess dirt and oil. Prime with an Oil Free primer, I am loving Laura Mercier Oil Free Primer for warmer months.
Pop lip colour of choice?
Harlotte Mistress Lipstick (see here). Hot pink with depth. Looks great with a natural, bronzed makeup.
What products are you loving right now?
Charlotte Tilbury The Retoucher pen is great for brightening and concealing - see here.
For lashes one of my client recently told me about Li Lash. It helps your lashes grow. She also teamed this with Kristin Fisher's Lash Lift and it was the most amazing combo I have seen in a while!
That is such a tricky question! Where do I start? Scroll through my instagram @tobimakeup and you will see mentions of lots of my favourite products.
