The Beautiful Fall: Fashion, Genius, and Glorious Excess In 1970S Paris

Take a step back in time with a book reflecting on Parisian fashion in the 1970's, revealing a historic rivalry between two legendary figures, Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent. A necessary read for the fashion lover at heart. Let's call it a history lesson if we must...

How to be Parisian

We have seen this cover dominate our Instagram feeds for some time now but rest assured this book is worthy of a cult status. Co-authored by TWAIN'S girl crush Caroline de Maigret, it is feverishly funny, honest and inspiring. From fashion and beauty to relationship advice, all you need to know about resonating those effortless, Parisian vibes. Personally a book which offers diet advice in the form of “Eat croissants and buttered toast for breakfast—because it’s Saturday morning and you burned enough calories last night, damn it” belongs on the coffee table.

The documentary chronicles a monumental step in the designers career, Ellery's first showcase in Paris. It is both chaotic and beautiful, filled with the beautiful aesthetic and that Ellery charm we all love.

For anyone who aspires to work for a fashion publication, reads one or just appreciates the enigma surrounding the Queen of style, the devil herself, Anna Wintour, this is must see viewing. Providing an insight into the ultimate fashion bible, also known as US Vogue, the documentary reveals what it takes to put together the biggest issue of the year.

Setting the mood...

Dyptique: Baises

Candles have become somewhat of a decorative trend these days but the benefits of lighting one are plentiful. Helping set the mood, the right scent can also have a calming and de-stressing effect on the mind and body. Much like a good perfume, the perfect scent can also evoke a memory and for TWAIN that is visiting the flagship Dyptique shop in Paris where the scent of roses filled the air and has stuck with us ever since. Not the cheapest option but the most stylish without a doubt... and sticks to the Parisian theme of our night in (unintended promise).

For nights in sans alcohol, nothing beats a cup of tea. TWAIN's favourite indulgence is the T2 Creme Brulee. Perfect for those with a sweet tooth. The calorie free alternative to ridding yourself of those sugar cravings. Because let's face it, it's winter after all and staying in shape takes some serious will power. For a more classic blend, T2's French Earl Grey is non negotiable.

... and when a wine night is non negotiable..

Well you simply can't go past the Pepper Jack Shiraz.
