Fashion: Sandra Hagelstam
Sandra's blog 5 inch and up was the first blog I started reading several years ago. I do wonder how I stumbled across her blog considering Instagram wasn't around, Facebook was hardly a daily activity and all I earnt was a few hundred dollars a week while studying at uni - so reading a blog full of designer pieces was such a tease! I could never afford her style (as they say, champagne taste with a beer budget!), but I would still visit her site on a weekly basis to get my dose of fashion and travel that I so longed for.
Well fast forward to now – I am no longer a poor uni student and I still read her blog on a weekly basis – and now there’s Instagram, so I can stalk her on a daily basis!
What I love about Sandra and her blog is her aesthetic and her ability to mix and match high end pieces with accessible pieces for the every day woman.
So during my weekly 5 inch and up indulgence I discovered Sandra’s post with the Stella McCartnet platform brogues. I quite frankly died and went to shoe heaven. Why? Because I’ve been avoiding any form of online window shopping over the past 6 months, so these brogues were not on my radar until about 10pm last night.
I’m a sucker for brogues – they’re so easy to wear – day or night – office or bar – spring or winter. And these have a platform – I repeat – these brogues have a platform! Just give me a moment to get myself together here!
I took a closer look on Net-a-porter here – the detail in these shoes are next level. Italian-made and set on a sustainability sourced wooden heel (because Stella doesn’t do things in halves) and a chunky white rubber ‘tractor’ style sole.
I just had to write about it. Because good things are worth sharing.
