Spend 5: Margot Daliphard

Do you ever flick through the pages of Vogue and find yourself immersed in a world you just simply needed to know more about (or if we’re really being honest here, wish you were a part of). Perhaps a cover that stops you in your tracks or a glimpse into a couture show so dreamy you end up fixated on it. You are left wondering about the sheer calibre of talent that has worked behind the scenes to bring such vision to life. For TWAIN, the world of Givenchy has had us hooked from the time we could afford Vogue itself. We all know a little about the creative genius that is Riccardo Tisci, but what about the rest of the team…

When it comes to dream PR gigs, it doesn’t come much sweeter than holding the title of International Press Officer for Givenchy. Where does one begin to describe such a role… an office in Paris, haute couture presentations, fashion shows, travels and magazine covers- all while working with a creative team whose talents are next to none. Have we mentioned the daily uniform is #blackonblack! Where do we sign up?!

This title belongs to Margot Daliphard, the down to earth Parisian who facilitates the very campaigns you have pinned on your mood boards. In between a hectic schedule and undoubtedly endless requests, Margot made our fashion daydreaming come true by opening the doors into her world.

Life as an International Press Officer is: really cool, hard work but very exciting and inspirational. We work on all time frames so we have very long day. Based in Paris, I work with my team in the morning and USA/ Europe during the afternoon. We have 4 fashion shows per year and precollections + Haute Couture presentations …

My office view: The Eiffel Tower, best view ever !

On working at Givenchy: Dress in black only, colleagues really nice, small team like a family.

Most memorable editorial to date: The shooting of the first issue of WFW15 collection , it was for Vogue Japan with ADR, and Riccardo, Kanye, Jessica Chastain, Kendall, everybody was on the set … it was last minute and its gorgeous !

My last editorial … was the cover of Australian Vogue with Gemma Ward. Amazing . It was very complicated but finally, the result is really nice.

Most memorable runway show to date: Our last WSS16 fashion show in NYC, emotion and love, it was hard work but the result was incredible, and very subversive as we open the show to the public of the city.

On style

My personal style is: I come from street style background. I am doing snowboard since I am child so I am more urban, 90s style…but always Black. And in love of sneakers, now its more about Nike Free women inneva, all black .

Favourite Givenchy piece: The Givenchy Antigona bag, perfect classic handbag ever.

First fashion heartbreak: When I was young, my mum went to Chicago and saw a match of Michael Jordan and she brings an original Bulls shirt , a black and white one, I was so obsessed about this shirt, so cool !!

Last big splurge: a small skull from Deyrolle, the Parisian taxidermy famous office.

Inspiration comes from: my travels … I travalled a lot …my last one was in Brasil, deep and cool… People there are so nice and you can see amazing pictures, lot of street ark, collage, performance and the shades of back and white are incredible. And my favorite city in the world is Istanbul, I love the graphic of the font and all their current contemporary art scene. Always amazing exhibitions at the modern art museum, one of my favorites museum in the world.
