Locals: Adam Katz Sinding on Amsterdam
As the founder of our go to fashion bible, @ Le 21ème, Adam Katz Sinding has travelled the world many a times over. However this globe trotting photographer recently based himself in Amsterdam. Having been living vicariously through Adam’s daily snapchat stories, we thought it was time to share his Amsterdam hangs. Because we know you will want to hang with the cool kids too when you visit…
Name: Adam Katz Sinding
Occupation: Photographer/Founder @ Le 21ème
Current city: Amsterdam
I have lived here for… 4 months
I moved here because… I was gonna get thrown out of Shengen and needed an EU visa. But it’s a beautiful city with a great airport near the city
What you might not expect… The city is extremely small and can be traversed in under an hour
Favourite thing to do… Ride my bike around the canals!
Must visit… The Stedelijk Museum
For an authentic meal.. Gebr. Hartering is the best meal I’ve found so far. The BEST steak!
For fine dining… Haven’t had a chance to try to much. Gebr. Hartering was a pretty great experience however.
For a hard earned beverage… Porum has some of the best cocktails I’ve had anywhere!
Easiest way of getting around… Bike, of course!
The fashion here is... utilitarian, but there are absolutely cool people to be seen if you go to the right areas.
For thrift shopping… I dont have the patience to thrift. Don’t ask me. I’m in and out when I shop. I get anxiety hunting through racks
For local designers… ETQ. on Singel is pretty amazing
For high end shopping… SPRMRKT is the best for sure
You need to stay… I would recommend staying central for sure, if it’s your first time. The W is smack dab in the middle, and the Hoxton Hotel is great as well, with a cool restaurant/café on the ground floor. And it’s right on the canal.
Hidden gems… I’m too new. Get back to me
Favourite photo I have taken here… A photo on Bloemgracht of the sunset in the early summer
